My quilts reveal what catches my eye throughout the day. The patterns and colors that I see tug on my heart, and quilting allows me to develop that connection between my eyes and my heart: myself with the world.

Landscapes, both natural and man-made, offer infinite inspiration and information to my quilts. Sidewalks and concrete pavements with their lines and cracks; gardens in the neighborhood with their patches of color; and, while traveling in plane, the skies and fields of color below. Also, the infinite surprises! Weeds and tree saplings busting through the concrete; the visual delight of a plate of cookies; the magic and mystery of my yard. All these things bubble to the surface when I quilt - when I engage with fabric I journey through the days of my life, my memories, and all my senses.

“My eye is always on the lookout for patterns and inconsistencies. Gardens, walking paths, and sidewalks provide infinite visual inspiration and delight.”
